The first edition of Pelikula Ilokana Film Exhibition is a showcase of films in Ilocos Norte and nearby provinces like Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, that aims to promote the illustrious and elusive Ilokano culture and its traditions. It aims to use film as a communication and narrative platform in highlighting the unique and wonderful history, and traditions of the municipalities and cities of Ilocos Norte and its nearby provinces.

 

Through these showcases, these films also further inspire and help Ilokanos especially the youth in appreciating not only the art of filmmaking as an industry but also their identity as Ilokanos.

 

Every municipality and city of the province of Ilocos Norte has inspiring, empowering, and phenomenal stories to share, which is why through film, these stories are being translated to the big screen as not only transformative narratives but stories that capture and represent the Ilokano identity.
